Tickets just went on sale, and I'm struggling to get through the
internet queue. If you want to attend the London concert on the 2nd of

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else play? I have tried to convince my friends in real life how great it is but most do not want to even try it because of some review they saw which called it the hardest game of 2011... One ended up literally throwing his controller against the wall after he died for about the millionth time on the Cappa Demon. So I'm interested in seeing if this game caught on with anyone in this community... Echo Baazar is a text-based (?) RPG game. Set in a subterranean Victorian - steampunk landscape, known as Fallen London. You take on challenges in story mode, and build up different attributes (Shadowy, Watchful, Persuasive and Dangerous). Some challenges ask you to choose between two options so e.g. if you don't like fighting, you can talk your way out of situations instead.

One of the cool things about the game mechanics is that you gain more experience if you fail the challenge rather than if you succeed. That way you can build your qualities quickly. Challenges are diverse depending on the location you visit and what qualities you'd like to build up e.g. Killing rats and engaging in brawls raises Dangerous, while seducing heiresses for info, writing poetry, giving speeches raises Persuasive.
 
You can also build up contacts with different aspects of Fallen London (artists, devils, the clergy, pickpockets, the police, whatever takes your fancy), whilst solving the bigger mystery of why you are in such a place and how it came to be underground.

It has been described as "for people who want an antidote to Farmville".

Without paying money, you get ten actions to "spend". If you tweet something you get ten actions restored instantly (you need to wait 24 hours before doing this again) Other wise you can wait five minutes for each action. I play a little every so often so I can get ten actions right away and log off when actions are spent. I'm trying to play without spending any money so it will be slow. You can log in via Facebook or Twitter.

At your lodgings you can meet your invited friends to play chess and do other activities that can help your progress.
