Some of you may know a lot about this and for some of you this will be the first time you hear about it, but I have come here tonight to get as much interest in this project generated as I possibly can.

I have been volunteering since December at a place called Liberty Hall in Tyler, Texas (where I live). The place is part of our downtown area which is being revamped into a new arts district similar to any street in Austin. The Liberty was one of Tyler's original movie theaters. It shut down and lay dormant for 35 years. It was purchased and renovated and is set up top run movies, which are mostly "classic" movies. We've shown things like Citizen Kane, Psycho, Halloween, Attack The Block, *cough*Ghost*cough*, and others. We are also set up for concerts and plays. Every concert we have had so far has been a sold out show.

Because I volunteer there I have gotten close to the manager of the theater and she told me if I knew people who might be looking for a place to perform to let them know. The first person I thought of was Craig.

I contacted Craig and asked if he would be interested in a gig at Liberty Hall. He was honored by the idea and after some back and forth conversation, he is into this idea. I also talked to people like Rick (aka Adm. Marius) from Starbase 66, Mark (aka eldiablito) and Mindy (aka yddy) about the idea and they all said it sounded great if it could be pulled off. Rick even said if it was far enough in the future so that people could save up to attend he'd be into the idea. Which leads me to where I am going with this...

The Craig concert (which is not in any way greenlit at the moment) would of course be open to the general public, which excites me with the idea of Craig gaining new fans. But, what I really want this to be is an excuse for a massive Simply Syndicated meet up. The UK and Canada meet ups (and the New York one) aren't feasible for everyone around the world to truly meet up due to economy, schedules, not enough time to truly save up. And add to this, Liberty Hall is booked through the rest of this year. Which means this meet up would have to be sometime in 2013.

After some discussion with Mindy, we arrived at the perfect date for this to go down - Saturday, July 13, 2013. This give us less than a year and a half to save up and attend. It also gives me time to get this show on the schedule, get Craig's stuff promoted here, and we put on what could potentially be the biggest meet up in Simply Syndicated history. Not only do I want to meet my fellow Synners from the US and Canada but I'd love for the ones from the UK to attend as well. And other countries as well.

For now, I want to know how many of you would like to attend (remember, this is about 16 months from now) so I can take this to my manager at Liberty Hall and show her the global attention this show is getting and help her convince her bosses to put this on. We have had a group of performers from the UK play there, plus legends in Texas country music, and a comedian who has had a Showtime special. So, it's not like we're just putting on any old entertainment on there. We've gotten Grammy winners to perform.

I'd also love it if some of the shows could plug this as well - even now in the early stages as we're just plotting and planning so I can have lots of help showing my boss that this will be an awesome turn out if she could just get it booked.

I have a backup plan in case the city doesn't give Craig the okay (not sure why they wouldn't), which would be to start a Kickstarter account to get Craig to play here.

So, please respond. Would you be interested in attending at all?

Seeing as this company has really game changed how people watch movies and tv in their home, which makes for a much more self determinate viewing experience it is readily understandable it is mentioned so often in so many of the shows. Especially as they go international with their service.

I just wonder that in light of Sim Syn's ever on going need to develop revenue streams, might it behoove the network if Netflix didn't get so much free international advertising which unlike traditional media where an advertisement is one and done, podcasts make product placement exist into perpetuity.

I know Sim Syn had a sponsorship deal with them a while back and that is over now, but there is repeated promoting of their product on multiple shows.
Clearly their service comes in handy for show hosts scattered across borders and oceans, making content readily available. And even if Netflix isn't interested at this time in becoming an advertiser with the network, is this free publicity for them actually doing a disservice to Sim Syn? Some of the radio shows I catch via podcast remove all the on air commercials from them because they are aware those ads would then get national/international exposure far beyond what they paid the station for.

I get that it would require hosts during the show to be aware not to mention a product by name during what is essentially a conversation between them, or for the editor of the show to cut the name so thus more work would be created for what most likely doesn't matter if Netflix isn't remotely interested. But regularly giving away free advertising can't be helpful for the network.

I hope you like them.

I know they don't quite look right at the moment, and there may be some functionality that needs adding, and a few bugs to work out, but this is basically it. In case you were wondering, we had to close down the old forum due to an unbelievable amount of spam being posted there. The best guess is that it's all getting in via the methods used to make our iPhone app work. That means that forum posting from the app won't work for a while, hopefully it'll be back up and running before too long.

In the mean time, please take a look around and post some things. That's why we're here.

Hey all, Its Dexter, or Mason Reptiles, or Ghostface SnakeCharmer if you be in the crew! I need a little help from any and all of you out there who have facebook. I live in Charlotte NC and there's a beer festival coming up. The festival is sold out but a local brewery is giving away tickets to whoever can get them the most Like's on facebook. It will only take 60 seconds of your time and all you have to do is go to Kind Beers page on facebook,
Kind Beers Facebook Page and click "Like" then comment on their wall Dexter Mason referred me! I would love to get to go to this festival and I'm currently in second place. The more people I can get in there the better so I'm stretching out to any and all forums I belong to as well as friends and family members of friends. The more likes I can get the better. Thanks to all who can help!
