I'm thinking that some of the sharper ones amongst you will have noticed that instead of having a huge list of shows, we've got a small list of show and this "other shows" category. There's a reason for that, and I thought I'd tell you what it is.

One thing we've never really managed to do is be totally regular with shows. I always thought that was to do with trying to do too much. So with that in mind I think it's time to move some of the old shows over to one side and forge ahead with some new ones, carefully. Remember in Apollo 13 when they have to turn all the systems back on in the right order to make sure nothing breaks? Well what I'm doing is something like that. Production on some new shows is starting next week (new show out on Tuesday/Wednesday). All of the old shows are going to be put together on the same feed so that while the production of them remains sporadic, there should still be a feed with something on it regularly. So shows like Movies You Should See, Crimes Against Food and others haven't been cancelled, I'm simply saying that you shouldn't expect one a week, and I have no idea when the next one is going to be. In the specific case of MYSS, it has just been put to one side while I get some new structure behind it.

The shows that have remained are ones that we generally don't have a problem getting out in a timely fashion. TIOLI, SHaFT and FTATR are generally always there, to help with that we'll be moving SHaFT to Saturday nights. Hooked is moving to a series release style, but will have some extra shows that pop up from time to time which will also go into the new multi-show feed. I must come up with a name for that.

Anyway, the first of the new shows will be going live at midnight GMT or 7pm EST on Tuesday night, and will be hosted by Jason from ATW9K and myself. We have something planned that I think will turn out to be rather special.

Following that I plan to build up the list of new shows with great caution, one at a time. As soon as we hit what looks like the peak of our production we'll stop doing new show ideas and hold off for a while.

Its a split room this show, in the blue corner Craig and Rich think this is one of the best films in the world and the in the red corner Mike Crawson and Allison Frowning bring some epic whiny hatred. They fall out over such myraid topics as the acting ability of Tom Hanks which is explored by Mike, Rich and Craig through the medium of role play. The first 20 minutes of the movie (actually they all like that), the formulaic nature of the cast, sentimentality, historical accuracy and the nature of evil.

Notes: Allison and Mike employ their "Things We Hate Special" nicknames

Meme Watch: nicknames, "Wendy"

LOL Lines:
Rich: "if Scotty said it, its fucking true, and thats all I'm prepared to accept on that matter!"
=======================================================
Episode Title: 55 - Wayne's World

Featuring: Craig, Mike D, Tristan, Allison and Rich

In This Weeks Movies You Should See: After Craig somehow manages to compare being on Skype to being a deity they're reviewing Wayne's World! Its time for the second annual MYSS Christmas show and once again everyone is angry with Rich for making them watch a selection of a movies that everyone hates except him. There are four movies up for discussion this show, firstly "Scrooge" which Rich only picked to annoy Mike. The film is compared to a drug trip, Craig expresses a secret urge to draw on peoples faces and Allison is brought to the brink of violence by a supermarket. Then its on to "A Muppet Christmas Carol" which even starts to melt Mike's frozen heart, we're taken on a journey through post modernism and Rich recounts the sad fate of the Muppets. Our third movie is "Jingle All The Way" where the cast causes grumbles, they talk porn, pointless TV re-runs, Arnold Schwarzenegger and what constitutes a Christmas movie is argued over once again. Finally its "Its A Wonderful Life" which prompts many iffy Jimmy Stewart impressions, Mike is mocked for being unable to say "black and White", and the show descends into one long revolting and hilarious tangent about projectile vomiting and the effect of gravity on boobs.

Notes: The intro and outro music is jingle bell "Chistmassy" version. Comments gratefully accepted. Cheers!

Episode Title: The movie they cover plus the episode number

Featuring: the hosts on the show

In This Weeks Movies You Should See: a brief run down of the topics discussed, I've done my best here to capture the major tangents the hosts go off on.

Notes: factual or different stuff about the episode is here, competitions etc, feedback etc

Meme Watch: Movies You Should See is notable amongst the SimSyn podcasts for having a lot of recurring phrases, catchphrases and callbacks. Here I've tried to list when they occur in the episodes. Heres a quick rundown of what they mean:

"10% of a million is 10,000"- The MYSS's host questionable maths skills was first exposed in episode #10 "Batman Begins". Often comes when other factual errors are made.

"allegedly" - often said by the hosts after saying something libelous about a celebrity

"Bill Paxton love" - one of MYSS's faavourite actors, his genius is often referred to.

"Blaming George Lucas" - the MYSS crew generally blame any wrongdoings in the movie world to him, Rich is also disturbed by his lack of a chin.

"cock" - in the early days of MYSS they made an effort not to swear but the word "cock" just kept slipping out, it became a recurring game to see who could say it first in a show.

"Hilary Swank/Hilary's Wank" - due to British accents Hilary Swank's name is often pronounced in this unfortunate manner.

"Julia Roberts hatred" - Rich's least favorite actress, often comes up when talking about things they don't like, Rich believes she resembles a 'monkey woman', this also comes up a fair bit.

"Katie Holmes and has she had a stroke?" one of the other least favorite MYSS actresses, often come up when talking about Tom Cruise, they'll be talking a lot about that in the future.

"Nicknames" - for their own amusement the hosts give each other nicknames, some of them like 'Mike Craw-son' pop up through a lot of episodes

"Night Arrows" - See episode 25 for Rich's explanation, it becomes a synonym for stupid things happening in movies.

"Orlando Bloom hatred/his lovely hair" - MYSS's least favorite actor for many, many reasons. His lovely flowing locks in Lord of the Rings are often mentioned alongside this.

"pronouncing Colin Farrell's name in a bad Irish accent" - pretty self explanatory this one, you'll know it when you hear it.

"Rich hates the movie" - again fairly self explanatory, you can hear Rich talk himself out of liking movies as the episode progresses

"The Crime Scale" - see episode #33 "Robocop" for the origins of this

"The legend of APEX" - vaunted by many of the hosts as the worst movie ever made it often comes up in relation to other bad flicks. Its legendary badness echoes throughout Simply Syndicated.

"Tristan joining the podcast from "The Barn" - Tristan wasn't always able to make recordings so often joined in over skype or iChat, which is related to:

"Tristans' Absence" - For a considerable chuck of time Tristan was off on filming adventures, so his co hosts made up libelous excuses for his absence, often involving an unpleasant death.

"Wendy" - the MYSS crews catch all name for idiots at the cinema who talk loudly, kick your seat and need every single thing explained to them.

Firsts & Lasts: I note the first and last time things happen

LOL Lines: the funny bits spouted by our beloved hosts.

********************************************************************

Episode Title: 01 - 28 Days Later

Featuring: Rich, Mike D, Craig and Tristan

In This Weeks Movies You Should See: the podcast that lauched.. several others this is the first ever episode of "Movies You Should See" in which our heroes talk all about "28 Days Later".
