My wife listens to books on tape, and I listen to my Zune. My daugther listens
in some, too, and we both have Night Arrows shirts. My son prefers games. We
love animals and currently have a dog and cat. Neither of them fetch particularly well.

Simply Syndicated is the first forum I've ever participated in, and still remains one of only two.  These shows also brought me into podcast fandom, where my only previous experience was a Manchester City Football Club podcast (long since defunct).

More important, though, is the community.  I've had the great pleasure of attending meet-ups and spending a bit of time with podcasters and other fans of (in chronological order): Starbase 66, Nerd Hurdles, Books You Should Read, Masters Of None, Atomic Trivia War 9000, Do Ask Do Tell, and The Greatest Events In Sporting History ... if I'm not forgetting someone!

Meet-ups have been wonderful.  If you get the chance, I encourage you to see for yourself.

  • Hey, I'm Tyler.  I'm 18 years old and am currently living in Cedar Rapids Iowa.  I came to Simply Syndicated through Albums you Should Hear and after running out of those episodes discovered For Those About to Rock and have been pretty much listening to all the other podcasts since.  I'm a music nerd and also enjoy tv, movie, books and art.  I don't have a beach around here but if there was I'm sure I would enjoy long walks on it.

Hi, I'm Rick, Admiral Marius if you're nasty, and I'm one of the hosts of Starbase 66.  I don't care for long walks on the beach, rain pisses me off, and I hate pina coladas.  I'm on twitter at @Admmarius and our show is @starbase66.  Check it out.

Oh, and Mary is infinitely interesting.  Just sayin. :-)

Hello!  I'm Matt, otherwise known as Lord Zupka.  I came to Simply Syndicated for the Make it So, stayed for the buffet.  My deep thoughts can be found at The Word of Zupka.

I'm closer to 30 than I would like to admit, and my wife teases me all the time about it.  I have an awesome son who is pretty much my spitting image, so now I must mold his mind into a razor sharp mind of an uber geek.  I read, play video games, take pictures and try to fool myself into thinking i can write.  (so far I can't).

Bonjour et comment ca va? Je m'apelle Ro, et je suis l'agent de liaison Bajoran sur la base stellaire 66.

Actually, I'm just a big geek. And I love geeky things. I love Star Trek and Xena and CSI and Wonder Woman and the Bionic Woman and women in general and horror movies and collecting action figures and discovering graphic novels and reading philosophy (and all other types of) books and debating (I'm a master debater) and being innuendolicious (I've been told I'm a cunning linguist as well). I'm a podcaster/blogger (www.starbase66.com), an amateur blogger (www.lobablanca.com), a second-degree Shop-Fu master, some contend I'm a secret agent, but really...I'm just a big geek.

And I love Simply Syndicated. I love the podcasts. I love the site. And I especially love the community. This place is full of great people with strong minds and amazing hearts. Whether I've met them IRL or not, these are my friends, and I'm exceptionally proud to say this.

Enough sentiment and silliness. I've got some geeking to do.

You are interesting Mary. I love when you guest on podcasts. That is interesting cause I went to school there :).

I'm Deepa, I moved from "the North" four years ago to a small Essex town. Now I pretend to "do Science" (molecular biology/human genetics) in the daytime. Video games was my first love and I'd like to think I know lots about Sci fi and Fantasy but I'm just a big poseur (I'm 4' 9'' so actually that should little poseur).

Currently I'm trawling through re imagined BSG so very slowly, because I can't be bothered to post DVDs back on time.

I listen to MYSS, Starbase 66, ATW9K, MoN, PCR, Nerd Hurdles and  BYSR (in no order).

I'm being called for cake bye for now.

Howdy ho, it's Jo from Texas. I'm a Psychologist, college instructor, waste about, with a foul mouth, contrarian nature, and  perverted streak a mile wide. Nice to meet you. *extends oven mitted hand*

In case you haven't guessed yet, I'm a bit odd, nerdy even. My interests include stress, discrimination, gender and sex, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, and trivia.

Hi, I'm Alan. I used to be DreadPirateRoberts but thought my name should be the same all over the interwebz, so now I'm Gadiac. (Not Maurice)

Hope we find lots of survivors in the irradiated remains of the old forum and come together in the fight against the 'Shadow Race'.

Hi I am Brett but Aromir to the World Wide Web. I am 43 and a member of the Royal Navy. Came to Simply Syndicated via Make it So like so many others of these wonderful people. I devour all of SS's content but being a massive geek I have an enormous soft spot for the Holy Trinity (Rick, Ro and Kennedy) that is Starbase 66. I am a keen golfer, reader and my Geekhood extends out from Sci-Fi to Fantasy, Horror and most things Film and TV as well as devouring as many books as I can in what time I have left, oh and I have occasionally been known to play the odd online game.

Unforunately I spend very long periods away with work and starved of any internet so my appearances on the Forum may be sporadic but this community is the best anywhere and I always love coming home to it.

    Long live the Geeks.

Hello, I'm Jonathan BA(Hons) MA, in true Mark Kermode style. I am also the co-host of Greatest Events in Sporting History, with the other host been Shane. I'm also the founding and only member of SSAST, although that really is a bit of a joke, because I don't really hate Star Trek, I just find it abit dull.
MYSS was my gateway podcast. I have been lucky enough to meet a lot of the people from these forums (well the old ones) and my follow Simply Syndicated Hosts, both in England and in America, in fact I think there is only Rick and Art I haven't met. One day guys, one day.

I came to Simply Syndicated via MIS, I'm primarily a Doctor Who fan but I love many other extraordinarily geeky things, I write a blog to this effect which you can find over at  http://emmahyam.wordpress.com/ I also tweet a whole bunch (mostly drivel and bitching about my co workers), I'm a very occasional guest on some of the podcasts here at SS and a devoted metalhead. Rock on fellow forumites \m/

Hi. Antony from ScutterCast (a Red Dwarf podcast) Along with Red Dwarf, I also have an unhealthy obsession with Star Wars. And I once risked my own personal safety by wearing a rubber wetsuit and walking around remote "dogger" woodland on the outskirts of Nottingham with a rather strange HGV driver....all because I was duped into thinking it would deliver Star Wars costumes....it didn't so I bought Stormtrooper armour...

That'll do for an intro. Don't want to scare people away

Hi.  Tony Pucci here.  I live in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.  Capricorn.  Marius, Kennedy and I lead the over-40 contingent here at Simply Syndicated.  No kids, going through a separation, and 2012 will be spent getting my ducks in a row as I'm trying to refinance my house in to my name only.  Yay.  I host the Federation Show, the weekly one-hour music podcast, the Pollyanna Cowgirl Records Podcast.  I have a secret (oops!) crush on Will Tristram.  I am a musician and a poet @ www.tonypucci.com  I have a CD out to raise money for ALS (MND) Patient Care and Research called "Songs for Jenny" in honor of my sister @ Songs for Jenny  You can find me on Facebook  I LOVE (heart heart) Doctor Who and also am a fan of Warehouse 13.  My house is painted Tardis Blue.  Really.

I guess that's a start. I do a podcast called Unrepeatable (Very NSFW in some places). But I got into it by calling in SHaFT and talking. Plus the chat room banter gets you thinking and before you know it you want everyone to hear you.

Been coming here for years. I started with MYSS because it was the only one there was. I guess this makes me an old timer. I also remember when we were asked to vote for the shows on those podcast voting sites. That's a flash back.
I'm the only synner to wear fancy dress to meet ups (just because I can). I like chocolate buiscutes, hairy men, learning new things and making people laugh. I solicit secret Santa for sexual favours. I have to much free time some night and this leads me to make up my own "hobbies" that I'll share with you later (don't worry you'll laugh).

I'm somewhat strange and sometimes shameless but my heart is in the right place. But I haven't got a clue where I left my morals.
  • Parachuting for your pleasure
Sailing seas in search of treasure.

Come along Chumley.  Phineas J. Whopee you are the greatest.

Tom, formerly das_corn, who figured with a brand new forum it was time for a brand new name based upon the greatest of all things, childhood cartoon characters.

Former Chicagoan who at 35 moved across the seas to Cologne, Germany.  Now at 40 with two incredible little girls (one of whom is essentially named after the cartoon giants Hanna Barbera all because of a name suggestion by my German wife [change the e to a]), I find myself happily mostly out of the commercial photography rat race and get to enjoy being a stay at home dad who is laying the foundations of quality sci-fi fandom in these two little minions.  Star Wars a hit, Star Trek not so much but much patience have I.

Like many others discovered Sim Syn through Make It So which led to MYSS, The Definitive Word; SHaFT which helped begot Starbase 66 and led to the North Americanization of the network with Nerd Hurdles, & Masters of None.   Now I have a MoN degree and NERD head wear.  Managed to attend one of the meet ups in Leeds a couple years ago and meet a few of the host and fellow fans.  Hopefully will get to do so again.

Hey folks (you just read that in Marius' voice), I'm Ari and I go by Kyp too here in these parts of the intertubes. I'm 21 years old and attempting to become an art student.

My first SimSyn experience was listening to the Porn and Swearing episodes of TDW way back in 2008. I'm a chatty opinionated nerd and I specialize in the fields of Trek, gender/sexuality and social justice, drawing, music, and, lately, a shitton of Skyrim.

This is my art blog, and this is my poetry blog.

And I'm a gorram Canajn, eh.

Hi, I'm Alice. I changed my username back to "missarrie" after on the previous forum where I was "Arrie" people confused me with Kyp :P
I'm twenty, I like to type numbers out with letters, and I'm in the final year (I hope) of my film degree. Like most everyone here, I'm a huge nerd. I watch/play things and sometimes I like them. What can I say? I'm pretty awesome :D

I also use emoticons way too much.

My name's Ben but close friends call me Bucho, after the villain from Desperado, because a large maori who played drums in my band and who also happened to be my one of my best mates thought I was too ugly to be nicknamed after a hero. He was wrong - I'm devastatingly handsome - but he's huge and maori so when he gives you a nickname that's your nickname.

This is the seventeenth version of the Simply Syndicated Forums I've been part of and the fourth time we've been back to Vanilla. Or was that eighteenth?

    Also, what's a podcast?
  • I am the sack of (contra)dicks(ion) known as Jakob. I've gone with a verbose username this time around. It caused Mandi to say "Why'd you make your name so crazy?"

This is our podcast, found on this here network wherein most of my contradictioning occurs: Nerd Hurdles (which also has a website).

Here is my (somewhat neglected) blog and my music blog and my music label.

Mandi and I also have a band, Moonwood.

I have another "band" called BABEL.

  • Hi, my name's David, been listening since the Chopper episode of MYSS so quite a while. I listen to most of the shows SS puts out and I'm currently building up my back catalogue to keep my SS fix up for a two month trip to East Africa. Trying to get into this forum lark for the first time.

  • Every time the forums get rebooted I resolve to post more and get involved. Let's see if it stick this time.

My name's Nick, I work a crappy day job that's so simple I can do it and listen to podcasts at the same time. The name ExplodingDragon is a combination of the dragons from Discworld and one of my favorite movies, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. You can find me on twitter @ExplodingDragon and I'm on Google+ as Exploding Dragon. I don't like giving out my full name or pictures of myself. It's a paranoia thing.

Actually I am Andrew from Scotland, I listen to a lot of podcasts and watch a lot of films and I try to write about them on my blog.

I am on twitter a lot and use the name ToxicDeath to maintain the same persona all over the interwebs.

I came to Simply Syndicated in 2008 and have been listening ever since, always on the look out for new podcasts, content and films.

I made it to a meet up in September 2010 and I am always trying to get back to another one.
