Definitely "Watership Down" ... the feel-good movie of the summer (or winter) of 1978.

Love the book. Love the movie. So much that I can tell you that is the bit where Beneral Woundwort is told by Bigwig that his chiefs had told him to protect the warren. Woundwort is taken back when he finds Bigwig isn't chief.

I'm a fan of The Plague Dogs too and read the book for the first time last year...Not as easy a read as Watership Down and I was grateful to already be familiar with the story. but I loved it...

    Sorry.....bit of a fan :)

Loved the book as well as the movie which led me on to the Duncton Wood series of books by William Horwood, if you have not tried them I highly recommend you do. Replace rabbits with moles.

I mhave got Duncton Found which is the third I believe. I've never managed to get to the end of it though....just put it down one day and don't return for ages.

I used to love these animal books when i was a kid. Loved the original Farthing Wood series...and there was another with mice....Redwall?

Haven't seen it, but I'm going to guess Paper Moon.

  • We have a winner!!

I was flicking through the channels and stumbled across it on the TV. Started watching and then got quite engrossed...then when I checked back to this thread, I couldn't remember the title of the movie....Had to do some detective work!!

     :)
  • Okay....try this one.

  • Not having much luck here....a few minutes after the above shot, another close up of an eye happens. This one probably more recognisable....maybe?

    Aeon Flux? ;-)
  • No....but the last picture (the second eye) is from one of the most analysed scenes from movie history...if not THE most analysed.

(and I've not seen Aeon Flux and so had to google the relevence of an eye...Sometimes, I'm just not geeky enough! :) )

Think you can remove the question mark Alan. It's definitely Psycho.

That last movie image reminded me of this one, from roughly the same era.

Hint: that's a young Catherine Deneuve.
  • Looks like Repulsion?

Yes. Before we knew either how good or how bad Roman Polanski might be, he made Repulsion with Deneuve. It's a nice psychological horror experiment.

I was going to try and make a new one of these but turns out someone else already started it.
