The 666 Forum Member Show. Willy Beaman had the dubious ‘honour’ of being our 666th forum member on our old forums. The choice was an influential hardcore punk album. Not my cup of tea but i’m joined by a man who knows his shit. Mr ‘Stop Gap’ Storer.

So here it be…..

    Yay!

“I’ve got a six pack and nothing to do.
I’ve got a six pack, and I don’t need you!”

  • Jay

    Excellent choice.

  • Rich

If this isn’t your cup of tea guys, you may be more receptive to their later stuff, which is more heavier than this and verges on to metal.

This was the first time listening to For Those About To Rock and I really enjoyed it. I especially liked the comment made about not “getting it” when it comes to punk. So many people not in to punk don’t understand that and dismiss it as crap. I’m looking forward to listening to more of this podcast.

“Riff riff riff riff riff riff riff”!

That’s something that should be sampled.

Never cared for Black Flag myself. They were no Dayglo Abortions.

I’d rather listen to the Circle Jerks, the Dead Kennedys or Bad Brains, but I recognize Black Flag’s significance in hardcore history. A better bet for you guys would have been the “Rise Above” CD Rollins put out in 2002, where he and the last incarnation of the Rollins Band recorded a slew of old Black Flag songs with a bunch of guest vocalists and far better audio production.

Overall though, perhaps you should leave the punkier stuff to someone else since, as you eventually put it, you really “don’t get it.”

I will most definitely be leaving punk to others Arturo. Gave some of BF’s later stuff a listen and I found I gained more from them. As this was a listener choice we had no option but to wade through Damaged.
