Sometimes a rest is needed. Enjoy Risa, gents. We’ll keep the warp core on standby for you.

Enjoy your well-deserved Trek sabbatical. I’ll continue to enjoy your other shows.

Guys this is terrible news, although I do realize that doing a 108 an episodes is a lot. Would you ever consider bringing the show back with different hoasts? Perhaps allow the audience BE the content? Email me if you’d like me to elaborate.

Make it so, is my fav podcast. So sad to see it go. At least mysterious universe is back. It should help fill the huge gap.

What sucks even more, is that there seems to be an entire generation of podcasts dying. Diggnation is really starting to get OLD, systm is gone as well, TWIT, is getting tired. I’ve been listening to podcasts since diggnation 001. Shows need to learn to mix it up to keep it interesting rather then let the show die of dullness. lack of interest in the hosts, or lack of audience.

Come on guys, figure out a way to have your cake (your break from MIS) but still keep a weekly dose of trek SS style on our mp3 players … just more fresh.

Thanks for reading this random expression of thought on the matter.

This is depressing. You guys got me hooked on DS9 and I’m just getting into the third season. After seeing the worst disguise on tv ever (Tom Riker) I was hoping for some more insight from you guys. Oh well, I’m looking forward to your return from shore leave. Don’t try to climb any mountains…

In one way I am going to miss listening to Make It So everyweek but I think you guys are right that it needed a break. To be honest topics lately have felt a bit lackluster.

  • Bucho on September 7, 2009 8:36 am said:

The reasons you guys give are completely understandable, there’s no point pushing it if it’s not coming naturally lately. But you’re so good that even a very casual Star Trek fan like me enjoys the show a great deal and I’ll be standing by ready for action when it makes its triumphant return.

For the best guys, the show honestly has been a shell of its former self for a while. You just didn’t sound interested in it anymore. And when that happens its time to step away and recharge.

One thing I could recomend is that Will and Mike brush up on Trek during the break so we can get back to the pre Episode 70 days.

I understand the need for the break, but am still disappointed. It seems that so many listeners have found Simply Syndicated through MIS, myself included.

Enjoy, but please don’t make it too long!

    very sad.

Thanks for the fine MIS show you have done in the past! I look forward to the return of MIS in the future.

For the time being, I’ll continue to enjoy the Simply Syndicated offerings available.

    Enjoy your well deserved break.

    Wow

It’s seems that there is alot of people here that are going t be missing MIS. I like many other SS listeners I found you guys through MIS (aka googling star trek podcasts). Since others are saying the same thing, I’d highly recomend that you guys should figure out a way to keep it going. Maybe not yourselves as hosts, maybe someone else can take the conn.

mysterious universe comes back, and make it so goes off….to everything there is a balance i suppose.

This is bad news. You guys were the model for me to make my own star trek podcast. I try to replicate your humor and fun, but I have to say even though people won’t like this, when Mike Dawson left the show, it spelled the end of it. From that point on, it was done every once and a while. The show missed the zeal it once had. God knows I hope I don’t end up loosing my passion for the show. I try to make it light hearted with sound effects and bouncy topics. God knows I don’t always succeed, but I have fun trying. Richard seemed to loose his love for this show and was doing it even though he would really rather would have a root canal.
Make it so, episodes 1-70 will always be my inspiration. Good luck guys..I will still listen to the other shows.

I came back to check for a new episode, and saw this, ad instantly knew something like this was going to happen. Well, enjoy the break, and please be back soon.

I believe my previous comment sounded a little cynical it was not my intent. I really am going to miss Rich and the guys on Make It So. I paid tribute to their contributions to the Star Trek universe on my show. If anyone would like to hear what I said about Make It So, please visit my shows page and take a look at the blog entry and listen to the show. Show number 22 of the Lou Trek Show. http://loutrekshow.com/?p=349 is the link. Check it out and maybe you can continue to listen to my show until Rich and the boys come back. The Star Trek universe is big enough for all of us.
