MASTERS OF NONE: The Groundhog Day Lost Radio Tapes

PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA – A number of years ago, a Groundhog Day radio broadcast from the Masters of None Morning Show at 92.2 WPNX was lost for what seemed like forever. Then miraculously, the raw cassette tape audio footage of the air check was found in the abandoned Punxsutawney Broadcasting Building in early 2010 by a demolition crew.

The footage  is being released exclusively now and here as an .mp3 file podcast in time for Groundhog Day on Tuesday, February 2nd.  It contains the entire radio show that we have all heard WPBH weatherman Phil Connors wake up to that fateful morning.  Also included in this audio is live exclusive coverage from the pursuit of the now infamous Punxsutawney Phil groundhog-napping, a special guest appearance by Ned Ryerson himself (actor Stephen Tobolowsky reprising his role) an appearance by Mark Hing of WolfGnards.com (author of “How Long Does Bill Murray Spend in Groundhog Day?”), a special review of Heidi 2 with Nerd Hurdles podcast host, Jakob Rehlinger and the help of voice talent Libby Kay.

“We are thrilled that such an historic piece of our heritage and holiday was recovered,” said Punxsutawney mayor, Buster Doyle.  “It will be a great honor to share such a momentous occasion with fans of this great day from around the world.”

    This made my head want to explode. This is so accurate to the garbage that was 90′s morning radio, and some of the surviving schmucks from that era who are still doing this, hello Mancow.

    Well done guys, but Jay the Jaugar I wanted to reach through my ipod and bitch slap you, only because you so nailed that radio DB voice.

    Guys, both links to The Tobolowsky Files have a spelling error, they should be with a “y” at the end not “i”. I wondered why I was getting page not found until I checked the spelling.
