NH – Episode 43 – Apocalypso
This episode was almost called “The Road, Untravelled” since Jakob ditched Cormac McCarthy’s book 67 pages in. It was also almost titled “Apocalypstick” until Jakob realized there’s an all-girl punk band by that name. Too bad because it would have been a nice nod to Wez’s ladyboy’s make-up. Whatever the title, Jakob raves about and Mandi hurdles The Road Warrior as they wander aimlessly through the wasteland of post-apocalyptic movies, books and game shows.

First time listener, enjoyed the show.
The Road is great, you should give it another chance.
Speaking of kids in a life or death contest with anything you want for the rest of your life as a prize, have you read Stephen King’s story/novella, The Long Walk? Definitely worth tracking down.
“It’s just like Mad Max II, The Road Worrior. Not the one with Tina Turner, but the one before that one with the gyrocopter guy.”

Glad you liked the episode, Bill. On exactly what page does The Road start getting good? I need more to convince me.
Mandi’s read the Long Walk. She recommended it to me. I have a King hurdle.
Tim, nice. Makes me wish there was a post-apoc TV show. Though not by the creators of The Hills.
