Allison Downing
Allison is an accidental podcaster. In her 9 to 5 life, she is a Specialist Harm Reduction Drugs Worker based in West Yorkshire, working with injecting drug users in a needle exchange setting. Her aims are simple: to reduce the harm that injectors may come to and prevent the spread of blood borne viruses. Podcasting is a far cry from her vocation, but when a group of guys sat talking into mics in her boyfriend’s flat missed points or said outrageous things, she found she couldn’t keep her gob shut, and started getting closer and closer to the mic herself. Allison has gone from chiming in to being a regular on two shows a week.
Allison is known for her taste in foreign and independent cinema, and is the feminine balance to the testosterone tide. The Queen of Simply Syndicated, she presides over the forums and takes great enjoyment from being part of the community that has grown up around the network. She’s also a damn fine Mafia player.
