Ro Karen hails from the ever-mysterious “DC suburbs,” off the East Coast of the United States. Her love of all things British and a brand new iPod with lots of extra space led her to the steps of Simply Syndicated. “Movies You Should See” was the gateway podcast that drew her in, but “Make It So” sealed the deal – and reawakened the slumbering geek within her. She has spent a lifetime filling her head with minutia concerning almost all things sci-fi, fantasy, and horror that she will happily share with anyone willing to listen (few and far between though these listeners often have been). Among her many geeky triumphs, Karen is proudest of her brief audience with Gates McFadden, her stint as a published author of a now embarrassingly cheesy piece of Trek fan fiction and, of course, her posting to “Starbase 66: The International Star Trek and Science Fiction Podcast,” with the ever-amazing Rick (Admiral Marius) and Kennedy (Weathereye). In her mirror universe existence, Karen is a government-contracted editorial and artistic “Jane-of-All-Trades” and Web mistress. Her office can be easily identified by the Star Trek action figures along her desk and the strange spontaneous laughter that occurs whenever she’s wearing her earbuds.
